Mammoth Bike Park Opens Friday!

The Mammoth Mountain Bike Park opens Friday. A big winter (55 feet of snow!) hasn't stopped us from providing awesome riding this kick-off weekend. Crews have been hard at work clearing snow for weeks and are proud to provide Uptown, Downtown, Shotgun and Big Ring for your riding pleasure. The Bike Park Shuttle will run from the Village every 30 minutes from 9am to 5:30pm with a stop at Shuttle Stop F for direct access to the dirt. As an added bonus, park tickets are just $29 a day for a limited time. Better yet, make some turns in the morning on the snow and add your afternoon Bike Park ticket for just $7! The Village at Squaw Valley Hosts the KT Concert Series with Tributes to The Police, The Rolling Stones and U2

[Squaw Valley USA] June 21 – The Village at Squaw Valley welcomes the KT Concert Series to its line-up of sizzling summer events. In its inaugural season, the KT Concert Series features well-known tribute bands on the KT Sundeck on the first Friday of July, August and September. Concerts are free to attend and will run from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on July 1, August 5 and September 2.

Music lovers are encouraged to kick back and enjoy the music of some of the most beloved artists of our time. The KT Concert Series features Stung, a tribute to The Police, Hollywood Stones, a tribute to The Rolling Stones, and Zoo Station, a tribute to U2.

The KT Sundeck makes for a spectacular music venue looking out on incredible views of Squaw Valley’s most legendary peak. The sun-drenched deck is nestled at the mountain’s base just feet from the chairlifts. It is nature at its best with music from some of history’s greatest rock bands and cold drinks in Squaw Valley’s pristine alpine setting. The Village at Squaw Valley Hosts the 10th Annual Art, Wine & Music Festival

[Squaw Valley USA] June 17 – This July, The Village at Squaw Valley welcomes the return of the The Art, Wine and Music Festival with exquisite artwork, fine wine and new this year, internationally acclaimed classical guitar music. To celebrate the 10th anniversary, the festival has partnered with the Sierra Nevada Classical Guitar Society to create an event that is truly a delight for the senses. The festival will take place Saturday, July 16 and Sunday, July 17 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in The Village at Squaw Valley.

The Art, Wine and Music Festival has become one of the most popular events for those who like to savor the finer things in life while enjoying the best Mother Nature has to offer. Talented artists and craft persons, musicians and performers gather at the base of Squaw Valley to showcase their creativity in the resort’s pristine alpine setting.

From 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. each day, wine lovers can sample offerings from 15 wineries, including elegant Pinot Noirs from the Robert Stemmler Winery and the Donum Estate, and vibrant wines from the Heck Estate’s Lake Sonoma and Valley of the Moon Winery.

Other featured wineries include Deerfield Ranch Winery, Dogwood Cellars, Pine Ridge Vineyards, Archery Summit Winery, Chamisal Vineyards, ForeFront, Rod Moniz Family Wines, Twister Rivers, Langetwins Winery and the Hess Collection.

While tasting wine under the peaks of Squaw Valley, visitors can admire the fine art and crafts of nearly 30 artists. The exhibition features artwork that spans the mediums, including gorgeous paintings, photography and jewelry.

Squaw Valley Opens Mountaintop Roller Skating and Summer Activities on June 17

[Squaw Valley USA] June 14 – As brilliant blue skies and warm temperatures return to the Sierras, Squaw Valley USA prepares to open for summer operations on June 17. This summer brings the return of mountaintop roller skating to the mountain as well as a host of other activities including mountaintop paintball, disc golf, hiking, scenic Cable Car rides and the High Camp Pool and Hot Tub. With incredible views of Lake Tahoe in a pristine alpine setting, Squaw Valley is the ultimate destination for this summer’s big adventures.

Roller Skating
This summer, roller skating will return to High Camp for the first time since the summer of 2008 at the High Camp Roller Rink (known as the Olympic Ice Pavilion in the resort’s winter months). Roller skating will be $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under with all tickets including traditional quad roller skate rentals. Accessed via the resort’s aerial Cable Car, the High Camp Roller Rink overlooks beautiful views of Lake Tahoe and the Sierra Nevada. The High Camp Roller Rink will be open daily starting June 17 from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with extended operations on weekends in July and August.

Swimming Pool & Hot Tub
The High Camp Swimming Pool & Hot Tub allows guests to soak up the California sunshine amidst Squaw Valley’s majestic peaks. Swim and splash around with the whole family in the free-form pool or relax in the hot tub overlooking the brilliantly colored wildflowers and Lake Tahoe. Lunchtime is the perfect moment to enjoy a juicy burger or fresh salad from the Poolside Café and a cold drink from the Umbrella Bar. Pool entrance is $14 for adults and $7 for children 12 and under. The pool and hot tub will be open daily starting June 17 from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with extended operations on weekends in July and August.

Paintball
Squaw Valley offers two mountaintop paintball courses located at High Camp, el. 8200’. Semi-automatic paintball guns, masks and safety equipment will be provided. Open to children ages 10 and up, paintball will be $29 for adults and $24 for kids. Squaw Valley’s paintball arenas will also be available for parties, corporate events and team building exercises. The Speedball course will be open daily starting June 17 from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with extended operations on weekends in July and August. The Woodsball course will open pending snowmelt.

Zip-Line
Kids can enjoy high flying fun at Squaw Valley this summer on the mountain’s kid-friendly zip-line located at the base of the mountain. Recommended for children 12 and under, zip-line access will be $12 for the first ride with $6 for additional ‘zips’. A $20 ticket can also be purchased allowing for unlimited rides for the entire day. The zip-line will be open daily starting June 17 from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with extended operations on weekends in July and August.

Disc Golf
Squaw Valley brings disc golf to a whole new level, offering 18-holes of fun at elevation 8,200’. The course is slated to open June 17 at High Camp pending snow melt conditions. Discs will be available for purchase at the High Camp retail store. Disc golf will be open daily starting June 17 from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with extended operations on weekends in July and August.

Mountaintop Tennis
Squaw Valley offers two breathtaking mountaintop tennis courts at elevation 8200’. Access to the courts is free with a Cable Car ticket and players are encouraged to bring their own equipment and balls. Tennis racquets and special high altitude tennis balls are also available for purchase and rent (racquets only) at the High Camp retail store. The tennis courts will be open daily starting June 17 from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with extended operations on weekends in July and August.

Hiking
Hikers can experience Squaw Valley’s pristine alpine beauty though the mountain’s vast trail network. The Cable Car allows families with young children and those looking for a mellower climb to start the hike at elevation 8200’ and have immediate access to views of Lake Tahoe and mountaintop hiking trails. Those looking for a moderate to difficult climb can hike Squaw Valley’s Shirley Canyon, where the hike leads through lush greenery and rushing waterfalls. For the first time this summer, Squaw Valley will allow hikers to download the Cable Car free of charge should they choose to hike up the mountain and ride the scenic aerial tram back down. Squaw Valley will host a series of guided hikes throughout the summer as part of the resort’s new partnership with the Tahoe Institute for Natural Sciences (TINS).

For the first time this summer, guests can experience all the activities that Squaw Valley has to offer with the All Access Ticket. $63 for adults, $57 for youth and seniors and $50 for kids 12 and under provides day access to Squaw Valley’s aerial Cable Car, roller rink, paintball arenas, swimming pool and hot tub and miles of beautiful hiking trails. A $30 All Access Ticket is also available for kids 10 and under that excludes paintball.

Please note, Squaw Valley USA will not offer mountain biking this summer due to the significant depth of the spring snowpack (currently over 14 feet). Squaw Valley will be renting both trail and mountain bikes in the Village at Squaw Valley along with kid trailers, trail-a-bikes and maps of local bike path and cross-country trails.
