[Squaw Valley USA] October 25, 2010 – Last night Squaw Valley USA received the first snowfall of the 2010-11 winter season. Squaw Valley received 2-4” of snow overnight, the result of a low pressure system moving east across California and Nevada from the Pacific coast. Opening day is just around the corner and Accuweather.com Chief Long-Range Meteorologist Joe Bastardi is forecasting above-average snowfall and low temperatures in the northwest this winter as Squaw Valley gears up for another phenomenal season.

At the mountain, Squaw Valley team members are working hard in preparation of the upcoming winter season. Construction crews are busy renovating the Olympic House base lodge, while the mountain team finalizes the plans for the resort’s new kids’ terrain park. Behind the scenes, Squaw Valley USA is launching a new service performance initiative with an unyielding focus on guest service. “When it comes to the guest, the only thing that’s changing is everything,” said Andy Wirth, Squaw Valley’s new President and CEO.

Those looking to be part Squaw Valley’s epic winter season take note, opening day is November 20, 2010 and season passes are on sale now at www.squaw.com.
