Squaw Valley Launches New Dawn Patrol Program
Squaw Valley's new Dawn Patrol program offers a mountaintop breakfast and early access December 26-31 and following weekends throughout the season

[Squaw Valley USA] December 24, 2010 – Squaw Valley USA announced today a new program that gives guests the opportunity to experience an area of the mountain prior to normal operations. Squaw Valley’s new Dawn Patrol program includes a scrumptious mountaintop breakfast at High Camp, el. 8200’, and pre-public access to Shirley Lake’s 200 acres. Dawn Patrol combines fine dining with exclusive access to Squaw Valley’s terrain for an incredible morning mountain experience.

“From the five-star breakfast to the pristine mountain views as the sun rises over the peaks, Squaw Valley’s Dawn Patrol is one of the most unique experiences in all of skiing,” said Andy Wirth, Squaw Valley’s President and CEO. “Guests will have nearly an hour and a half to ski and ride tree runs, virgin corduroy and exhilarating chutes before public access.”

Guests arrive at Squaw Valley’s Cable Car Building at 7:15am to take the 7:40am Cable Car to High Camp. The eight minute ride includes breathtaking views of Lake Tahoe and the sun rising over the mountain peaks. Once at High Camp, Dawn Patrol attendees can decide if they want to hit the slopes at 8 o’clock sharp or enjoy the full breakfast buffet before heading out onto the slopes. Breakfast is served from 7:45am to 10am and offers a wide range of food from fresh fruit and delicious French toast to a chef-manned made-to-order omelet bar. At 8am, skiers and riders can take to the hill to enjoy fresh tracks on Shirley Lake. Whether the morning offers fresh powder or untouched corduroy, guests can experience Squaw Valley USA as their own private mountain.

Wirth continued, “As is always the case, our commitment to safety is unwavering. In that light, we will only open this terrain when it is cleared by our world-class ski patrol. Full refunds will be granted should safety or weather force us to cancel.”

Dawn Patrol will be running from December 26 through December 31, 2010 and following weekends throughout the season. Guests can ski or ride with special guest Jonny Moseley who will be in attendance from December 26 through December 28. The Dawn Patrol experience costs $49, which includes a signature breakfast buffet and early access to Shirley Lake. The price does not include a lift ticket, which is available at the daily rate.

Those wanting to partake in Squaw Valley’s newest program can pre-purchase online at www.squaw.com/dawn-patrol or at any ticket window. If bought online, Dawn Patrol tickets must be purchased prior to 3pm the day before. Pending availability, tickets can also be purchased the morning-of inside the Cable Car building. To ensure an exclusive mountain experience, Dawn Patrol is limited to 150 people.

Squaw Valley USA is also offering a mountaintop breakfast at High Camp, el. 8200’, from 8am to 10am on December 26-31 and all following weekend mornings. Starting at 8am, diners can ride the Cable Car and enjoy the five-star breakfast buffet overlooking stunning views of Lake Tahoe. Breakfast tickets can be pre-purchased in any ticket portal as well as morning-of in the Cable Car lobby. High Camp breakfast and cable car packages are also available for purchase. Diners who are not part of the Dawn Patrol program will have access to the lifts when the mountain opens at 9am.
