Helly Hansen’s 2011 Big Mountain Battle Series Registration for
Squaw Valley USA is Now Open

DELTA, B.C. (February 9, 2010) - Helly Hansen’s wildly successful three-year-old Big Mountain Battle Powered By Flaik series’ Squaw Valley stop is still open for registration.

The Big Mountain Battle's Squaw Valley stop is a fan favorite among local skiers. It will challenge teams of two to ski and snowboard a big-mountain course designed by the local ski patrol. Teams are tracked in real time by Flaik GPS devices as they hit virtual checkpoints, strategically placed across the mountain. First-place finishers will win $2,000 worth of Helly gear, prizes from sponsors Thule, Powder and Dakine, and free entry to the final Battle in the Bowls in Aspen/Snowmass on March 27. Second and third-place finishers will also be awarded an array of prizes from sponsors.

“The Big Mountain Battle series continues to be a huge success. It appeals to a really broad group of riders — from weekend warriors to father and son teams,” said Marshall Rutman, Helly Hansen’s North American marketing manager. “The event gives participants a chance to explore their local mountain and track their performance online after the event. It really makes for a fun day on the mountain and we’re anticipating a record turnout this year.”

Cost for the event is $85 per team and includes two Helly Hansen baselayers, valued at $45 each as well as a year-long subscription to Powder magazine. For more information and to register online, visit: www.bigmountainbattle.com
