It's cold in the mountains dress in layers

SQUAW VALLEY USA El 6200 will operate the Cable Car, Funitel plus 6 lifts; new snow 4 to 5”. El 8200 has 11 lifts. Night Skiing with the Cable Car and 2 lifts, the Mountain run is open; they received 5 to 6” of new snow. Squaw Valley is hosting a free STEEP AND DEEP AVALANCHE AWARENESS CLINIC ON FRIDAY January 3Oth, also a free Beacon Basin Avalanche Clinic on the 1st and 15th of every month.

ALPINE MEADOWS 7 lifts for today. Alpine received 10 to 13” of new snow; the winds on top were 25 MPH NE.

KIRKWOOD is planning on running 12 lifts; the X/C area has 65K of M/G track, with 5 to 6” of new snow.

MAMMOUTH MOUNTAIN received 9” of new snow, 27 lifts are scheduled for today.

JUNE MOUNTAIN received 9” of new snow. Lift operation today should be 7.

SUGAR BOWL will operate the Gondola and 8 lifts. They received 8 to 14” of new snow.

HEAVENLY they will operate The Gondola and Tram on the California side along with 9 lifts. The Nevada side has 12 lifts. They received a trace to 6” of new snow.

BOREAL should operate 4 lifts for day skiing, 2 for night skiing tonight, they received 7 to 10” of new snow.

SODA SPRINGS is operating 5 lifts plus the mini snowmobiles for today. New snow was 7 to 10”

MT ROSE 7 lifts in operation for today; the Chuter is open. They received 6 to 8” of new snow

NORTHSTAR has 4” of new snow; 15 lifts in operation; cross country has 30 K of Machine Groomed track open.

SIERRA AT TAHOE they are planning on 8 lifts today. They received 10” of new snow.

TAHOE DONNER received 7” of new snow; operating 3 lift in today, Cross Country 42 trails with 25 K of machine groomed track.

DIAMOND PEAK 4 lifts scheduled for today. They did receive 2” of new snow.

HOMEWOOD MOUNTAIN RESORT received 3 to 5” of new snow, lift operation should be 6.

ROYAL GORGE X/C 37 trails 110K of M/G track, with 3 lifts; they received 6” of new snow.

DONNER SKI RANCH 7 to 10” of new snow, 6 lifts scheduled for today. .

ALL LIFT OPERATIONS ARE SUBJECT TO WIND WEATHER AND SNOW SAFETY! Surface conditions fresh powder, machine groomed powder; areas with snow making will make snow when they can. There are obstacles both marked and unmarked. We ask you to please be aware ride and ski with care.

Today’s weather was taken between 4 AM and 6:00 AM and is subject to change. The temperatures are in the low teens to mid 20’s; the winds were light, the sky mostly cloudy to cloudy it’s snowing at some of the areas. New snow fall was in the last 24 hours.
