Alpine Meadows and High Fives Foundation Present the Sixth Annual Trains Freestyle Contest
[Alpine Meadows, Calif.] April 12, 2013 – The High Fives Foundation, Alpine Meadows and Volkl Skis present Trains 2013 Freestyle Ski & Snowboard Contest, April 20, from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. at Alpine Meadows. A great spectator event, Trains is a world-class skiing and snowboarding competition at one of the most stunning locales in the Lake Tahoe basin.

Alpine Meadows and Snow Park Technologies roll out all the stops with an amazing slopestyle course and spectator venue on the Firing Line terrain park. A unique format at a competition unlike any other, Trains will showcase the talents of 30 competitors vying for top honors and the chance to donate over $5,000 to selected charities.

Tahoe’s Most Unique Event Format:
Three teams of ten (skiers and snowboarders) will be picked by captains to compete for Best Backflip, Best Switch Trick and Best 540 (degree rotation) in the first half of the competition. The event’s namesake, Trains, will be on display in the second half of the event as the team competition for Best Train ensues with each team of ten popping off the features in succession.

Winners donate their prize money:
This is an invitational competition with participation by top athletes including Parker White, Nick Goepper, Carson Lehoillier and Chris Logan, to name a few. A total of $5,000 cash will be donated by the winners of Best Male, Best Female, Best 540 (degree rotation) and Best Train to the winners’ select charitable organizations.

DJ Silver Boombox Thief and DJ One Truest
DJ Silver Boombox Thief will be onsite to turn out the beats entertaining spectators and keeping the athletes pumped throughout the competition.
