[Olympic Valley, Calif.] April 19, 2013 – The Mountain of Strings concert featuring Yonder Mountain String Band, Del McCoury Band and Tony Furtado comes to Squaw Valley on Sunday, April 28. The all-ages show will take place at the base of the mountain in an outdoor tent in front of the Olympic Village Lodge (also known as OVL or the Squaw Valley Conference Center) from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. The concert is presented by Devildog Productions, the Crystal Bay Club Casino and Pet Projects Presents.

Concertgoers can ski and ride the morning at Alpine Meadows before heading over to the show at Squaw. Though the last day of skiing at Squaw Valley will be April 21, Alpine Meadows will be open for skiing and riding 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, April 26 through Sunday, April 28. The free Squaw Alpine Express shuttle will be running between Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows every day that the lifts are spinning.

“With big names in bluegrass like Del McCoury and Yonder Mountain String Band coming to Squaw, I can’t imagine a better way to end another great season of skiing, riding and après parties,” said Sean Kristl, Squaw Valley’s event manager. “This show will be a guaranteed good time after our final morning of spring skiing.”

Headlining the show, Yonder Mountain String Band is an American progressive bluegrass group from Nederland, Colorado. Composed of Dave Johnston, Jeff Austin, Ben Kaufmann, and Adam Aijala, the band has released five studio albums and several live recordings to date.

The Del McCoury Band is a bluegrass band. Originally Del McCoury and the Dixie Pals with Del on guitar and his brother Jerry on bass, the band went through a number of changes until the 1980s when the band solidified its line-up, by adding McCoury's sons Ronnie and Robbie on mandolin and banjo, respectively. American banjo player Tony Furtado will be performing as the show's opening act.

Tickets for the Mountain of Strings concert are $40 in advance and $45 at the door. Tickets are available at www.cbc.tickets.musictoday.com/CrystalBayCasino/calendar.aspx.
