The Sun is back, with spring returning

SQUAW VALLEY USA EL 6200 has the Cable Car, Funitel 6 lifts operating. EL 8200 has 12 lifts. They received 10 to 14” of new snow. Squaw Valley and Jonny Moseley host 2009 Sprint US Freestyle Championships starting March 26 thru the 29th.

ALPINE MEADOWS is operating 6 lifts for today, with 10 to 14” of new snow; the winds on top were 25MPH.

KIRKWOOD is planning on running 12 lifts; XC area is open with on going grooming. They received 12 to 20” of new snow.

MAMMOUTH MOUNTAIN 23 lifts expected for today, new snow of 14”.

JUNE MOUNTAIN 6 lifts scheduled, new snow fall of 14”.

SUGAR BOWL received 12 to 14” of new snow and will operate the Gondola plus 8 lifts.

HEAVENLY the Cable Car and Gondola plus 9 lifts on the California side, Nevada has 11 lifts. They received 16 to 23” of new snow.

BOREAL MOUNTAIN RESORT should operate 5 lifts for day skiing and 2 for Night skiing. Boreal received 12” of new snow, along with Soda Springs.

SODA SPRINGS 4 lifts scheduled.

MT. ROSE received a trace of new snow; 7 lifts in operation today.

NORTHSTAR 16 lifts scheduled, X/C is open with 40K of groomed trails. They received 11 to 13” of fresh snow.

SIERRA AT TAHOE is operating 6 lifts for today, with 19 to 33” of new snow.

TAHOE DONNER received 12 to 15” of new snow, they are operating 3 lifts and XC is open with on going grooming.

DIAMOND PEAK 4 lifts for today. Diamond Peak received 1” of new snow; it was snowing lightly this morning.

HOMEWOOD MOUNTAIN RESORT 6 lifts, with 18 to 24” of new snow.

ROYAL GORGE 50 Trails with 120K of track.

DONNER SKI RANCH plans on 7 lifts for today, with 12” of new snow.

Today’s weather was taken between 4 AM and 6 AM and is subject to change. The sky was partly cloudy; the temperatures in the mid single digits to the low 20’s; the winds were 5 to 15 MPH with higher gusts over the peaks and ridges.
