Winter is back with over a foot of fresh powder!

SQUAW VALLEY USA EL 6200 has the Cable Car, Funitel are on hold with 10 lifts operating. EL 8200 has 13 lifts all on hold. They received 15 to 22” of new snow. Squaw Valley and Jonny Moseley host 2009 Sprint US Freestyle Championships starting March 26 thru the 29th.

ALPINE MEADOWS is operating 12 lifts for today, with 16 to 22” of new snow; the winds on top were 47MPH.

KIRKWOOD is planning on running 12 lifts with 1 additional lift on hold; XC area is open with on going grooming. They received 121 to 16” of new snow.

MAMMOUTH MOUNTAIN 24 lifts expected for today, the winds average 55 MPH, new snow of 9”.

JUNE MOUNTAIN 6 lifts scheduled, new snow fall of 12”.

SUGAR BOWL received 12 to 18” of new snow and will operate the Gondola plus 8 lifts.

HEAVENLY the Cable Car and Gondola plus 12 lifts on the California side, Nevada has 12 lifts with one on wind hold. They received 14 to 20” of new snow.

BOREAL MOUNTAIN RESORT should operate 6 lifts for day skiing and 2 for Night skiing. Boreal received 13 to 18” of new snow, along with Soda Springs.

SODA SPRINGS 5 lifts scheduled.

MT. ROSE received 12 to 15” of new snow; 7 lifts in operation today.

NORTHSTAR 16 lifts scheduled, X/C is open with on going grooming. They received 13 to 16” of fresh snow.

SIERRA AT TAHOE is operating 12 lifts for today, with 11 to 16” of new snow.

TAHOE DONNER received 12 to 15” of new snow, they are operating 3 lifts and XC is open with on going grooming.

DIAMOND PEAK 4 lifts for today. Diamond Peak received 8 to 16” of new snow.

HOMEWOOD MOUNTAIN RESORT 6 lifts, with 10 to 16” of new snow.

ROYAL GORGE no report today.

DONNER SKI RANCH plans on 7 lifts for today, with 13 to 18” of new snow.

Today’s weather was taken between 4 AM and 6 AM and is subject to change. The sky was cloudy with snow showers heavy at times; the temperatures in the low 20’s to the mid 20’s; the winds were 15 to 35 MPH with higher gusts over the peaks and ridges.
