Sunset Dining at High Camp, el. 8200’, Begins for Summer 2010

[Squaw Valley USA] June 29, 2010 - Squaw Valley USA announces the beginning of Sunset Dining Packages for the 2010 Summer Season. In conjunction with the start of summer night operations, sunset dining will start Friday, July 2, 2010 and run every Friday and Saturday night through Saturday, August 21, 2010.

Lake Tahoe’s mountaintop dinner adventure begins with a scenic ride in Squaw Valley USA’s aerial Cable Car as it ascends 2,000 vertical feet to High Camp, elevation 8200'. Sunset diners will experience the alpenglow of the sun setting over Squaw Valley’s upper peaks while enjoying a delicious three-course meal off the special sunset dining menu at the Poolside Café.


The Sunset Dinner Package tickets are $39 per person if purchased before 5pm and $49 per person after 5pm. The ticket package includes the Cable Car ride and a three-course dinner at the Poolside Café. Dinner tickets can be purchased at the ticket portal at the base of the Cable Car.

While at High Camp, guests can also take a romantic spin on the ice at the Olympic Ice Pavilion or wander through the Olympic museum. Both are open nightly until 8:30pm. Ice skating is $11 per person and hockey or figure skate rentals are included. There is no charge for the museum.


The Cable Car uploads every twenty minutes, on the hour. The last Cable Car trip up leaves at 8pm and the last Cable Car down departs High Camp at 9pm. Operations are subject to cancellation due to inclement weather. Reservations are strongly recommended and can be made by calling (530) 452-7278.


Guests looking for mountaintop dining on weekday nights can enjoy delicious Cal-Asian cuisine overlooking the mountain peaks at High Camp's Poolside Café on Sunday through Thursday nights.
