IT'S COLD IN THE MOUNTAINS DRESS IN LAYERS


SQUAW VALLEY EL 6200 will be operating the Tram Funitel and 10 lifts, at EL 8200; they will operate 11 lifts and 6 parks. New snow fall of 1” in the last 24 hours.

ALPINE MEADOWS is open with 12 lifts, and 4 parks.

MAMMOUTH MOUNTAIN should have 27 lifts in operation today. They have 6 parks and 1 ½ pipe. Mammouth did receive 2” of fresh snow.

SUGAR BOWL Gondola plus 8 lifts running along with 5 open parks. Sugar Bowl did receive 3 to 5” of fresh powder.

ROYAL GORGE CROSS COUNTRY has 76 trails and 162 K of track for your enjoyment. They did receive 3 to 5” of fresh snow.

HEAVENLY access via the Gondola, Tram, with 25 lifts scheduled today, along with 4 parks and the ½ pipe is now open. They did receive 4” of new snow.

KIRKWOOD 12 lifts scheduled, they have 3 parks, their cross country area is open with 80K of M/G track. Kirkwood did receive 1 to 2” of new snow.

BOREAL MOUNTAIN RESORT will operate 6 lifts for day skiing, ½ pipe and 2 lift for night till 9 PM. The tubing park is open from 10AM until 4PM. Boreal and Soda Springs did receive 3 to 5” of new snow.

SODA SPRINGS 2 lifts for skiing, 3 for tubing and mini snowmobiles available.

MT ROSE lift operation today should be 5 lifts, plus the Chuter which is on delayed start; one park is scheduled.

NORTHSTAR AT TAHOE 16 lifts with 5 parks in operation today, X/C 35K of M/G track.

SIERRA AT TAHOE 10 lifts in operation today, along with 6 parks.

TAHOE DONNER will be operating 5 lifts, 2 parks; X/C 47 trails and 95K of M/G track.

DIAMOND PEAK is open today with top to bottom skiing; they will operate 5 lifts, and 2 parks. They did receive 1” of fresh snow.

HOMEWOOD MOUNTAIN RESORT they will operate 7 lifts along with 2 parks. Homewood did receive 1” of new snow.

DONNER SKI RANCH should operate 7 lifts for today.

THE WEATHER WAS TAKEN BETWEEN 4:30 AM AND 6AM IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE. LIFT OPERATIONS ARE SUBJECT TO WIND WEATHER AND SNOW SAFETY. THE WEATHER WAS PARTLY CLOUDY TO CLOUDY; TEMPRATURES WERE IN MID SINGLE DIGETS TO THE LOW 20’S. THE WIND WAS 5 TO 15 MPH AT THE LOWER ELEVATIONS, WITH SOME HIGHER GUSTS OVER THE PEAKS AND RIDGES. AREAS WITH SNOW MAKING ARE MAKING SNOW WHEN EVER POSSIBLE. THE SURFACE CONDITIONS FRESH POWDER OVER M/G AND SKIER PACKED POWDER. THERE ARE OBSTICLES BOTH MARKED AND UNMARKED, WE ASK YOU TO BE AWARE RIDE AND SKI WITH CARE.

THERE IS AN AVALANCHE DANGER, IF YOU GO TO THE BACK COUNTRY BE PREPAIRED AND GO WITH A GROUP.
