WINTER IS HERE, AND WILL CONTINUE FOR TODAY

SQUAW VALLEY scheduled, 8 chair lifts, 3 surface lifts at EL 6200, at EL 8200 is on hold. They have received 18 to 36” of new snow.

ALPINE MEADOWS has 7 lifts planned for today along with 2 parks. They have received 33 to 47” of fresh snow.

MAMMOUTH MOUNTAIN with 24 lifts scheduled for today. 9 parks, 2 1/2 pipes in operation. Mammouth did receive 24” of fresh powder. The winds at Mammouth could effect their lift operations today as they could gust to 70 MPH.

SUGAR BOWL should have 7 lifts in operation. Sugar Bowl did receive 30” of new powder.

HEAVENLY will operate 27 out of 30 lifts on both the California Side and the Nevada Side, along with 5 parks available. They did receive 48” of fresh snow.

KIRKWOOD should operate 10 lifts. The cross country center is open with 50 K. they did receive 36” of fresh snow.

BOREAL MOUNTAIN RESORT is planning to have 5 lifts for day and 2 for night skiing. Boreal did receive 36 to 44” of new snow.

SODA SPRINGS 5 lifts scheduled along with the Mini Snowmobiles. They did receive 3 to 4’ of fresh powder.

MT ROSE 6 lifts scheduled with the Chuter on a delayed start. They did receive 15 to 22” of new snow in the last 12 Hours. The Winds were 10 to 35 MPH.

NORTHSTAR AT TAHOE is operating 4 parks, their super pipe is open, 15 lifts in operation, the Ice Rink is open from 12 noon to 8 PM, and the Cross Country and Telemark Center are open with 86 trails. They have received 20 to 33” of new snow.

SIERRA AT TAHOE has 8 lifts running today, along with 4 parks. They have received 36” of fresh snow.

TAHOE DONNER 2 lifts scheduled with 2 more on hold, one park is available; the XC area is open with 18 trails with 61k of track. They did receive 32 to 40” of new snow.

DIAMOND PEAK is planning on 5 lifts in operation, and 3 parks. Diamond Peak has received 20 to 30” of fresh powder.

HOMEWOOD MOUNTAIN RESORT is open with 5 lifts 1 additional lift on hold; they have 2 parks in operation. They did receive 18 to 30” of fresh snow on top.

THE WEATHER WAS TAKEN BETWEEN 4:30 AM AND 6 AM AND IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE. LIFT OPERATIONS ARE SUBJECT TO WIND WEATHER AND SNOW SAFETY. THE WEATHER WAS SNOWING EVERYWHERE. TODAYS TEMPRATURES WERE IN THE MID 10’s TO THE MID 20S. THE WINDS 5 MPH TO 25 MPH WINDS, THE PEAKS AND RIDGES HAVE HIGHER GUSTS. THE SURFACE CONDITIONS FRESH DEEP POWDER, SKIER PACKED POWDER, AND MACHINE GROOMED. THERE AN EXTREAM AVALANCH DANGER, STAY WITH IN THE SKI AREA BOUNDRIES.
