WINTER CAME IN WITH A BIG BANG



SQUAW VALLEY EL 6200 will be operating the Tram Funitel and 11, they received 29” of new snow at EL 8200 closed today. 

ALPINE MEADOWS is open with 11 lifts, and 3 parks.  Alpine did receive 22” of fresh powder.   

MAMMOUTH MOUNTAIN should have 23 lifts in operation today.  It was snowing when the report came in, they did receive 16 to 23” of new snow.  

SUGAR BOWL gondola plus 6 lifts running along with two open parks.  Sugar Bowl did receive 23 to 30” of new powder.  

ROYAL GORGE CROSS COUNTRY has 31K of m/g track for your enjoyment, with 23 to 30” of new snow.     

HEAVENLY access via the Gondola, Tram, with 24 lifts scheduled today. Heavenly did receive 36” of new snow.

KIRKWOOD 5 lifts scheduled and 5 more on hold.  Their cross country area is open with 40K of m/g track.   They did receive 16 to 24” of new snow.
          
BOREAL MOUNTAIN RESORT 6 lifts for day skiing and 2 lift for night till 9 PM.  They have one park open. The tubing park is open from 10AM until 8PM. Both Boreal and Soda Springs did receive 30 to 36” of new snow.

SODA SPRINGS 2 lifts for skiing and 3 lifts for tubing, for full operation today.  

MT ROSE   lift operation today should be 4 lifts today, 1 delayed start and 2 on wind hold; they did receive 8 to 10” of new snow in the last 12 hours. .

NORTHSTAR AT TAHOE 15 lifts three parks in operation today, X/C 10K of M/G track. They did receive 24 to 36” of new snow.   

SIERRA AT TAHOE received 30” of new snow with 10 lifts in operation today, and 3 parks.

TAHOE DONNER has a possible wind hold on the chair lifts; X/C has 120K of track with 20% groomed.  

DIAMOND PEAK is open today with top to bottom skiing, they will operate 4 lifts.

HOMEWOOD MOUNTAIN RESORT will operate 3 lift.

DONNER SKI RANCH should operate 5 lifts for today.

THE WEATHER WAS TAKEN BETWEEN 4:30 AM AND 6 AM AND IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE.  LIFT OPERATIONS ARE SUBJECT TO WIND WEATHER AND SNOW SAFETY. THE WEATHER WAS CLOUDY AND SNOWING AT MOST OF THE AREAS. TEMPRATURES WERE IN THE MID TEEN’S TO THE LOW 30’S. THE WIND WERE 10 TO 25 MPH, WITH HIGHER GUSTS OVER THE PEAKS AND RIDES.  AREAS WITH SNOW MAKING ARE MAKING SNOW WHEN EVER POSSIBLE. THE SURFACE CONDITION SOME FRESH POWDER, M/G, AND SKIER PACKED POWDER.  THERE ARE OBSTICLES BOTH MARKED AND UNMARKED, WE ASK YOU TO BE AWARE RIDE AND SKI WITH CARE.
