Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows Launch "Bucks for Barks"

Squaw and Alpine launch program to raise money for the Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe

[Olympic Valley and Tahoe City, Calif.] February 20, 2012 - Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows are pleased to announce their new “Bucks for Barks” program. The program, which commenced today, February 20, gives guests the option of donating $1 or more to the Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe whenever they make a purchase on-site or at either resort’s online store.

The Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe is a local organization dedicated to saving and improving the lives of pets through adoption, community spay/neuter services and humane education programs. The funds will go towards the Humane Society’s capital project that is working towards building a new shelter, as well as helping to cover operating costs that allow the non-profit to take in hundred of homeless animals each year.

“The money raised through the Bucks and Barks Program will go a long way in our efforts to help lost and abandoned animals in our community,” said Stephanie Jensen, executive director of the Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe. “We are extremely grateful to Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows for their amazing support and unwavering dedication to helping save the lives of homeless pets.”
